A day in the Hannah Turner life: A Valentine's Day photoshoot
Hiya, Megan here, giving you a peek behind the scenes of a Hannah Turner photoshoot. Today, we're all hands on deck at Hannah's house for a Valentine's Day-themed shoot.

Photoshoots can sometimes be a bit chaotic, but we've got four of us here today instead of just Jo (our brilliant photographer) and Hannah. Emily spent most of last night scanning supermarkets and homewares shops for props (flowers, candles, chocolates, etc.), and she's also helping with the creative direction. I'm taking a few behind-the-scenes pictures of the setup, helping out where I can, trying not to eat the props, and documenting the process here as we go.

I really look forward to photoshoots because it's a lovely break from working at a desk. Getting creative, experimenting with different layouts and colours, getting each other's opinions, the dog, wearing my slippers, and having a good natter at the same time really doesn't feel like work at all!
Good images are integral to our business; it's important to show our designs in real-life settings as they're intended to be used and displayed in the home. We like to have a regular turnover of different seasonal images for our Instagram and emails, so we try to arrange fairly regular photoshoots every few months. There's nothing more satisfying in the business than having a gorgeous layout of a matching tea set.

Valentine's Day- not everyone celebrates, but we're approaching the occasion from just wanting to make things look beautiful, and sharing that with whoever you want! The theme of the Valentine's shoot is less to do with grand gestures like fancy meals and cars wrapped in bows and more to do with household objects that can make each and every day a bit more joyful and creative for a loved one. Mum, Emily, and Jo have a really good eye for arrangement, which is quite a skill in my opinion!

We also wanted to take the opportunity to do some Spring-themed photos, experimenting with different colours. The results were surprisingly beautiful, using black as a background colour really makes spring-green colours pop!
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed. And if you want to make someone feel extra special this Valentine's Day, we have a Valentine's section on our website that we've curated x
