A Ceramic Spring Cleaning Guide!
It's now officially Spring, so your emails might be filled with newsletters reminding you of this! Today, we are giving you something a bit different: a Spring Cleaning guide!
Spring is my favourite season, I love the new life starting to show outdoors, from snow drops and hellebores, to noisy birds staking their territory, it is all starting to wake-up from a winter slumber, and so our houses also need a bit of a refresh as rays of sunshine hit those surfaces! Spring is an inspiring time of year, as we feel a bit of a surge of energy and can get out more. I love the bright greens and yellows, the bluebells and tulips eventually surfacing. Who doesn't?

This is a guide for those who have some of our larger designs that require a bit more delicacy than just putting in the dishwasher. Our ceramics are made with a lot of care, consideration and expertise, so naturally, you'll want to make sure to treat them well yourself! We reckon some of you might want to do a deep clean in honour of the new season, so we're here to give you some cleaning instructions for our designs, whether they're new or if they've been collecting dust!
We'll start with our Flying Wall Trios because they tend to get a bit neglected as they're not in daily use. I would recommend very carefully lifting them up off their nails first. Please be very careful, we don't want any breakages! These will just need a gentle wipe with a damp cloth with a bit of washing-up liquid in the water. The same goes for other ornamental objects like our Planters, Money Boxes and also the Salt & Peppers.

As for Teapots, Storage Jars and Tall Jugs- because these are larger, they're not great for the dishwasher, so we would recommend gently hand-washing and avoiding any harsh scrubbing with abrasive sponges. We also recommend hand-washing the ceramic Spoons, as they are more delicate, and the Egg Cups, as they have recesses that can hold water.
For the dishwasher, Plates, Bowls, Mugs, smaller Jugs, Butter Dishes and Sugar Bowls are all fine!
So I’ve pulled together some of my favourite Hannah Turner pieces for my home for Spring to inspire you as we try to get away from this cold winter! I have the Wild Boar and Elephant planters at home and now is a good time to replant with fresh herbs or perhaps a succulent that doesn't require too much attention.
I also have the Trinket Dishes to rest our Wildlife Spoons on and also Tall Jugs for bunches of daffs or tulips to brighten-up the space. Moth Tea Towels and Oven Gloves are perfect with these brighter colours, and of course the Moth or Peacock Apron for whilst you are cleaning!
Spring at the studio means tidying and wiping-down dusty shelves, unboxing new designs, and dreaming of sunny mornings (preferably with a cup of tea).
